A sundial works because of the shadows that are cast by the sun.The shadows show where the sun sun is therfore telling the time.

You can not look at the sun because it will burn out your retina. It can only take 3 seconds for this to happen.

A equinox tells when winter is ending and when spring is starting. The day is split in half perfectly with 12 hours in the day and 12 hours at night.
